Main Title : God's Great Family

By Pastor Michael Magbag

Scripture :

"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you."  — Exodus 20:12

- It has been said that a family can survive without a nation, but a nation cannot survive without the family. God established the family by bringing a man and a woman together in marriage. Then came children and grandchildren. That is His order.

Question :

Do love your family ?

Are you always there for your family through thick or thin?

For today's blog we will talk about in and out of the true value of the word family like I'm always doing in my blog I'll going to start by defining the word family?

What Is Family?

- Family is individuals who have special meaning. They are our foundation of support, personal cheer squad, teachers, counselors, and anything else we might need, even if we have to hear the hard truth. They comfort us and even put us in our place.

Family can be “family” in every sense of the word. Moms and dads who are in charge of checking under their child’s bed to ensure that there is not a monster. Moms that kiss our boos-boos and dads that teach us how to ride a bike.

Family can be those we confide in and tell our secrets to. The best friends that absolutely know everything there is to know about us and yet are constantly learning something new. The ones that we listen to and the ones that listen to us.

Family can be the coach or mentor in your corner who has pushed you to do your best since day one and has never gave into doubt nor ever gave up on you.

They are those special people we choose to help make the pressure of the many things on our shoulders lesson. There’s laughter and tears; there’s history and memories.

Family is love, even if love can be a weird thing. Family is acceptance. Sure there are disagreements and arguments, and those holidays that have mashed potatoes thrown, but it doesn’t go away. Family doesn’t go away, no matter how annoying at times.

They are there even if we don’t want them to be. They always have advice even if it is something we don’t want to hear or admit that is right.

They are there with a helping hand. They are there to help us vent. There to calm us down and to talk some sense.

They make us think, and ultimately in the end make us realize. At times they can be right and at times they can be wrong. Just like at times we can be right and at times we can be wrong.

Yes, it is true. Family is always there, no matter their arrival date. If it was since birth or just recently. They are surrounded by a cloud of love, comfort, support, and many more things.

A family is a group of people who want as well as choose to be together embraced by a bond so powerful and strong that not even the slightest test of trials or troubles can breach.

I think Lilo got it right when she said, "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten."

Let us not forget the true meaning of family.

Scripture:

1 Timothy 3:15
New International Version (
NIV)

15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

For Todays Pointers:

I. God Is Building A Family:

Scripture:

Psalm 127:1
New International Version (
NIV)

Psalm 127

A song of ascents. Of Solomon.

1 Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.

"Where do we get our concept of family? Where do we get our concept of God? The Bible reveals that these two concepts are inextricably linked, and that they teach us vital truths about God's love—and His plan—for all humanity."

The family is the atom of society and yet we often treat it with contempt or complacency by not understanding God's purpose for it, and thus not fulfilling His goals. None of us would embark on any life journey in the dark, without a road map or without the necessary equipment unless one had no concern for their success. God has given us a clear pattern for the running of the family and a clear purpose for its function and yet too often Christians today look to worldly philosophies or their own pragmatic reasoning to run this fundamental building block of society.

When the family fails, the church fails and the nation fails. This outline (with minimal commentary) looks at several of the most important aspects of the family, its purpose, its interrelationships, its vision, solely from the truth revealed by God in His immutable and all sufficient Word.

II. Family Treats Each Others As Friends

Scripture :

1 Peter 3:8-12
English Standard Version (
ESV)

Suffering for Righteousness' Sake

8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. 10 For

“Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; 11 let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

Workmanship " P.O.E.O" - Poetry Of Word Family

- Family is God's poetry

- God' Creativeness is Expressed through family.

- Family is  God's own Masterpiece

Conclusion :

Know this: Satan always hates what God loves. God loves the family. He established the marriage of a man and woman as a physical representation of His love for the church and the church's love for Him. God effectively says,

"You want to know how much I love my people? Look at the way that Christian man loves his wife. You want to know how much My people love Me? Look at the way that Christian woman loves her husband. This is my model. This is my example for all of you to observe."

Therefore it should come as no surprise that the devil would try to undermine the family.
