Main Title : 30 Minutes Alone With God

By Pastor Michael Magbag

Scripture :

Psalm 63:1
New International Version (NIV)

Psalm 63[a]

A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah.

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

Put down your phone…(don’t you know it’s impolite to be on your device when talking to someone?) Shut your computer…emails can wait. Close the door - create a quiet environment for this special encounter. Get ready for a visit with someone you may have neglected - your best friend, Jesus!

Relax. (1 minute) Be still and quiet. Prepare your heart.

Recite. (2 minutes) Enter with thanksgiving and praise.

Scripture :

Psalm 100:4
New International Version (NIV)

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; thanks to him and praise his name.

Renounce. (2 minutes) Confess your sins.

Scripture :

Psalm 66:18
New International Version (NIV)

18 If I had cherished sin in my heart,  the Lord would not have listened;

Read. (4 minutes) Study the scriptures.

Reflect. (4 minutes) Meditate on the verses.

Record. (2 minutes) Keep a journal. Write practical personal applications. Write what the Lord is showing you.

Request. (5 minutes) Pray over your daily requests.

Reconnect. (5 minutes) Pray in the spirit.

Receive. (5 minutes) Listen. Then go back and write what the Lord is saying in your journal.

I challenge you to try this for a month at least. If you are inconsistent in devotions, this would be a good way to begin. It will change your life!

Time with God is an investment in eternity!

Meditate :

Put away all distractions and begin your 30 minutes alone with God today. Meditate on his goodness. Praise Him for who He is.

Live :

Commit to having 30 minutes alone with God for the whole week. Get a journal if you don't have one so you can write down what  the Lord is saying. You can also get a Life Journal in church to keep track of your Bible reading and jot down personal applications from what you read. #SeekGodFirst #InvestInEternity
